Why this company exists
ZioConstruction inc. is a Quebec-incorporated company working as a general contractor in residential renovation. Its territory is the province of Quebec, with a clear priority on Quebec City and the surrounding area.
The starting observation is a simple one. Renovation is a fragmented market, where plenty of companies are competent on site and disorganized everywhere else. Estimates stay vague, schedules rest on a conversation, and the client ends up managing the coordination they thought they had handed off.
We chose to do the opposite: a quote broken down line by line, communication that comes to you while the work is under way, and a complete file handed over at the end. That is our difference, and it is the only one we claim.
ZioConstruction is a start-up company and we do not pretend otherwise. What we bring is current training, compliance taken seriously from the very first job, and an availability that overloaded order books no longer always allow.
The founder
Rufin Zia Mpouam, founder and site lead
Rufin Zia Mpouam completed a vocational specialization certificate (AEP) in carpentry and joinery, and has worked on site in framing and finishing. He is the one who takes the measurements, writes the quotes and runs the job.
Before construction, he spent five years as an IT technician. That path explains the place documentation, follow-up and digital management tools hold here: a job site is run on current information, not on memory.
He has also completed the “Managing a Construction Business” course, the prerequisite for acting as the management officer with the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ), the provincial construction licensing board.

Licence, insurance and compliance
ZioConstruction inc. holds a general contractor’s licence issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ), the provincial construction licensing board — category 1.2, Small buildings, together with fourteen specialized subcategories covering structure, building envelope, finishing work, and manufactured cabinets and countertops. The number appears on every quote and every contract, and you can check it yourself in the RBQ public register at rbq.gouv.qc.ca.

Protections in place
Civil liability insurance
Coverage in force for damage that could occur during the work. The certificate is provided on request, before the job starts.
CNESST registration
The company is registered with the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail, the provincial workplace health and safety board, and applies its rules on site.
Standard contracts
Our contracts follow the APCHQ and ACQ models: scope, price, schedule, change orders and payment terms are all written down in black and white.
Vetted subcontractors
A valid RBQ licence, insurance and CNESST registration are verified for every company that sets foot on your site.
